SMF Sponsors - Carlow

Carlow Brewing Company, also known as O’Hara’s Brewery, is an independent, family-owned business established in 1996 and one of the pioneers of Irish craft brewing. Located in the heart of Ireland’s traditional malt and hop-growing “Barrow Valley” region which has strong historical linkages to the Irish brewing industry, we are proud to have been at the forefront of the new wave of Irish craft brewing for almost 17 years. As a craft brewery we brew our beers true to the tradition – with taste and flavour. It takes a combination of passion and respect for the craft, curiosity and creativity to build a good craft brewery and to brew great beers. Share in our passion, taste our beers, explore a brief insight into O’Hara’s Beers through our website and we’d be happy to have you join us one day at the brewery.

SMF Sponsors - Tipperary

Since the 1700s over seven generations of the O’Donnell family have lived on Seskin Farm, Co. Tipperary and have mastered the art of cultivating the perfect potato. Today we bring our hard won expertise as well as the name, to realise the finest of hand cooked crisps. In 2007 Ed O’ Donnell, a young seventh generation farmer wanted to diversify as farming was looking bleak at the time. He saw a niche in the market for an Irish hand cooked crisp and decided to make crisps from the potatoes grown on his farm. Ed believed it was important that the product and flavours were Irish and artisan so he sourced local food producers to give the crisps fantastic individual flavours. O’Donnells Crisps launched in June 2010 and were lucky to receive an exclusive deal with Musgrave Retail Partners Ireland. For three months O’ Donnells crisps were supplied exclusively to 192 Supervalu and 474 Centra stores nationwide and lucky for us they were a big hit straight away! Since then O’Donnells are available nationwide in Supervalu, Centra, Spar, Mace, Londis, Costcutter, Dunnes, Tesco, local delis, forecourts and other retail outlets.

SMF Sponsors - Waterford

Anchor Spirits Ireland Limited is a boutique beverage company based in Waterford City in the south east of Ireland. Anchor Spirits Ireland produces new Irish drinks, carefully created and often inspired by old Irish recipes, stories, people and places that should never have been forgotten. Our reason for existing is to create drinks that seduce more than one sense.  We are about great taste, a lingering aroma, an aftertaste and a talking point.  We want our drinks to be savoured and enjoyed.  While many of today’s large industry players are positioned in high energy environments with equally high consumption rates, we encourage you to enjoy our beverages slowly and indulgently. We insist on strong aromas on the nose – the olfactory being the first sense to bravely venture down the road of something new.  As a twist, we like it lighter or less intense on the tongue, and then, above all, we want the warm after glow that makes a drink both memorable and great. We’re happy to boast about having some of the finest taste buds in the land on staff. Those involved work hard to evoke the tradition of the Irish artisans of the past, especially when we find recipes and formulas that can be embraced, re-created and enjoyed by people all over the modern world today.

Walsh's Bakehouse are Michael and Dermot Walsh, third generation bakers of the Walsh family. They started their bakery almost thirty years ago. Situated on Mount Sion Avenue, a place which reflects the history of the Waterford Blaa and and its’ connections to brother Ignatius Rice who founded Mount Sion School on Barrack Street in 1802 where he also had a bakery and tailor’s workshop. In 2013 the Waterford Blaa received the highest recognition as a quality European foodstuff - PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) status.  This prestigious designation meant that the Waterford Blaa could claim its place among the ranks of internationally renowned products such as Italy’s Parma Ham, France’s Camembert de Normandie Cheese and Greece’s Kalamata Olive Oil and guarantees an authentic heritage product. Today, Dermot and Michael own one of only three bakeries that still bake the Waterford Blaa and maintaining the same great flavour, traditional skills and unrivalled quality is a challenge relished by the brothers Dermot and Michael.

Tom Sinnott’s Aunt Ellen O’Leary started Wexford Home Preserves in 1988 in Our Lady’s Island, Co. Wexford. She built up a great reputation locally for the quality of her jams, marmalades and other preserves. When Ellen decided to move on to other things, Tom and his wife Laura took the reins and began running this small family business making artisan sweet and savoury preserves and conserves by hand using traditional recipes with the open pot boiling method. They had a passion for really good, locally made food using local ingredients and could see a need for it in Co. Wexford and much further afield. Wexford Home Preserves has won several awards including Wexford business of the year, Great Taste Awards and the Irish Quality Food Awards. The company now supplies over 350 shops nationwide and is making award winning Select products for Dunnes Stores. Tom and Laura, besides employing themselves, have created 12 jobs and have contributed a lot to the local economy, choosing to deal with local suppliers whenever they can.
